Copper Vessels always valued by India
The outbreak of COVID-19 has proved again and again that our ancient Indian practices of using copper vessels are deeply scientific, and we need to pay heed to them.
COVID 19 is a pandemic that has spread all over the globe. According to research by a USA Institute, a virus that causes COVID-19 is stable for many hours on different surfaces. You might be amazed to know that the virus can remain active on cardboard for 24 hours, plastic, and stainless steel for 2-3 days and on copper for the 4 hours only. This means that viruses can’t survive on copper vessels for long. Therefore the use of copper utensils is highly recommended to stay safe.
Copper has anti-microbial properties. When the membrane of the microbe comes in contact with copper ions, the membrane gets ruptured, and the safety of the microbe is compromised. It enters the cell and interferes with the metabolism and other functions happening in the cell. Eventually, the microbe dies.
The use of copper is highly advocated by ancient gurus as they used to store water in a copper vessel so that it remains fresh over a long period. According to Ayurveda, Copper maintains a balance between 3 doshas-Vata, Kapha, Pitta, and thereby it saves us from many diseases. It also retains the nutritional value of the ingredients, such as minerals in the water. This can reverse the process of aging too.
Now COVID-19 has given you enough motivation to shift to copper vessels again.
